The Flete's hit DC

Earlier this month Chad and I, along with our Fletemeyer family, flew out to DC...to surprize Ryan (Chad's brother) for his 30th birthday. The surprize party went off without a hitch...thanks to the careful plannin of Erin, his wife!

We arrived on a Saturday and left on a Monday...and packed a lot of fun in. Aside from the party...three of the highlights from the trip were:

1. A private tour of the White House - Of which a few memories include...Chad planting a kiss on me in the press room, me doing a handstand in the White House lawn, and getting to see the Oval Office...and all those other familiar White House camera shots we see on TV...

2. Time with Taite - our precious little niece...who is so addicting to be around...we just can't seem to get enough...

3. Visiting the National Cemetary (is that OK to say it was a highlight?) It was so powerful to see visually all the people who have fought for our country, especially during this season of war our country is in. Such a powerful and honoring time.

Thanks for looking!

Gone fishing!

So, we started this past Saturday morning...after a nice breakfast at a favorite spot on Pearl Street (Spruce Confections)...off to go hike and fish at Gross Resevoir. With one fishing pole in hand, a picnic lunch, and two cameras, we headed for the mountains...for Chad to fish, for Jennie to take photo's...and for the two of us to enjoy the nice 83 degree mountain hike!

Would you believe it if we told you that by the day's end, not only had we forgotten to put on enough sunscreen, eaten a nice picnic at the river's edge, and hike for a few hours...but we caught over 30 fish! Chad being the pro caught over 20...and Jennie 10! We released them all except two (sorry little fishies)...one pictured below...as these were served at Chad's birthday party last night...we grilled and spiced them up...and into our belly's they went (only a TINY bite for Jennie, of course!)

A great day on the river...our first Fletemeyer fishing trip!

Hello!

Well...three months in and we finally are creating a blog spot for this Fletemeyer team!

There is so much we want to share with you as we journey through each week and month. So, with the help of the modern technology (digital camera & blogspot) the miles between hopefully will seem less and less!

Periodically, we will send you a brief caption of our lives...so when you have a minute you can click through a few pictures of the latest and greatest adventures of...TEAM FLETEMEYER!

We love you!
